The MDC Homestead Campus was established in September 1990 in the historic business district
of downtown Homestead. The campus consisted of six acres with one 20,000 square-foot building and
nine portables where classes were held. All donated by Barnett Bank and City of Homestead.
The campus has five permanent facilities on its site, including the School of Aviation and the nursing
laboratories - housing the new Nursing South program. These permanent facilities are a sign to the community
of Homestead and surrounding areas that MDC is committed to the higher education of the south Miami-Dade
